Product details
Pashmina 70% cashmere Classic orchid mauve
In the mid-19th century, the British chemist Sir William Henry Perkin discovered a new purple dye during an experiment. He was thrilled with his discovery and named the dye mauveine, as the color resembled the purple hue of the wild mallow (French 'mauve'). Mauveine quickly became popular in the fashion and textile industries and is considered a milestone in the history of textile dyes.
It quickly gained popularity in royal circles and was mentioned in "Godey's Lady's Book and Magazine" as a fashionable color. For example, Queen Victoria wore a silk dress dyed with mauve to her daughter Victoria's wedding in 1858, and Eugénie, the wife of Napoleon III, also delighted the court with a mauve accessory.
In Orchid Mauve, this mauve tone merges with a delicate orchid pink to create a color of the finest elegance, associated with femininity, romance and grace.
Each of our Pashmina Classics is meticulously handcrafted. The unique blend of cashmere and silk gives the scarf its distinctive texture, softness, sheen, and warmth. It's the perfect combination for any season. Measuring 70 x 200 cm, the Pashmina Classic offers versatile styling options. Wrap it around your neck and feel its warmth and comfort. Or drape it over your shoulders for an elegant, lightweight look – you'll love the soft touch against your skin.
